About Us

In Fall 2021, Nachalah was founded with the basic belief that given a community with an exclusively student leadership and a strong sense of autonomy, students will become much more engaged and invested in their community than they otherwise would be. As the Jewish Orthodox student community on campus, our goal is to facilitate and cultivate a diverse and meaningful Orthodox student community, particularly focusing on those living on-campus in the Summit, as well as those in Kew Garden Hills and other nearby neighborhoods. Through our lively Shabbatot, student-led learning opportunities, and social events, we hope to enrich the lives of local Orthodox students at Queens College.
